Mike has been without a job now for quite some time and money has run out. Ouch…
Sure, we started a new business in April, but with everything going on, the stress, the uncertainty of everything, it has been hard to really do the work consistently. On top of that, after a great start, I left the country for a good 8 weeks and lost momentum.Still, business has been groing steadily (just not as fast as I would have liked)
Now it was time to do some serious soul searching.
We know that God gives us everything; a place to live, a job, children, opportunities, desires, lessons to learn and talents. Once we truly realized that Mike is not the natural born entrepreneur and totally accepted his strengths for what they are, we were able to start a very streamlined job hunt.
But first we had to learn to be totally willing to let go of everything. To be willing to sell horses, to move and to go where ever God would lead us! It took some time, it was a slow process to get the whole family on board, but once that happened, doors started to open left and right.
We were able to find job openings all over the country. We applied to a lot of jobs, some more interesting than others. Some of them seemed very promising at first, but than after some research, not so promising after all.
We had to ask ourselves some questions:
- Where do we want to live? (geographical area)
- How do we want to live? (city, country, mountains, desert)
- What is important for our children at their ages? (opportunities)
- What climate?
- Are we willing to really trust God and go through that open door?
To be continued…
